Projectionist Pete
Orpheum Theater

One of the more active spirits in the theater is thought to be that of a former projectionist who committed suicide in the building. "Projectionist Pete" as he’s referred to by those who have encountered him seems to be truly unsettled in death, and if the previous hauntings at the Orpheum I've talked about are benign if not helpful, Pete is anything but. He seems angry, quick to temper and is capable of interacting physically with the living.

One story involved a manager who was closing up for the night. While doing a final walk through he found the projection room a complete disaster, tools and papers scattered all about in what looked like a fit of anger. Frustrated or simply exhausted after a long shift the manager yelled out at the angstful specter asking for him to just behave, just once. The room got very quiet and it seemed as if the air had gotten significantly heavier when he felt a hot breath and the sensation of spittle on his face.

It took a moment, by he quickly backed out of the room and started hastily back to the bar. As he approached he heard a tremendous crash and then another. When he arrived, clean dishes from the night that had been neatly stacked on the bar were strewn, broken on the floor. He watched as it appeared someone swept their entire arm across the bar continuing to push more of them off. He left that night leaving the mess for morning, in the light of day and when tempers may have cooled.
